Safety & Community Guidelines
Chattyio is built on the belief that anonymous conversation can be positive and respectful. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.
18+ Only — No Exceptions
Chattyio is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. By using this service you confirm you are at least 18 years old. Any user found to be under 18 will be permanently banned. Any adult who attempts to engage a minor in conversation will be permanently banned and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement agencies.
Prohibited Content & Behavior
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and, where required by law, reporting to authorities:
-
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — Any depiction, description, or solicitation of sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance. All reports go directly to NCMEC and law enforcement.
-
Sexual exploitation & trafficking — Solicitation, grooming, coercion, or facilitation of trafficking or sexual exploitation in any form.
-
Harassment & threats — Sending threatening messages, sustained targeted harassment, doxxing, or encouraging self-harm.
-
Hate speech — Content that attacks or dehumanizes individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
-
Spam & scams — Unsolicited mass messages, phishing attempts, or fraudulent solicitations. Links and URLs are automatically blocked.
-
Impersonation — Pretending to be another person, Chattyio staff, or law enforcement.
-
Illegal activity — Discussion or facilitation of drug sales, weapons trafficking, or any other illegal activity.
How to Report a Violation
If someone violates these guidelines, tap the Report button in the top-right corner of any chat window. The user is immediately disconnected and their IP is blocked for 24 hours. You don't need to explain the reason — one tap is enough.
For emergencies or serious criminal matters, please contact your local law enforcement directly. In the US, you can also report CSAM to the NCMEC CyberTipline at cybertipline.org or call 1-800-843-5678.
What Happens After a Report
When a report is submitted:
- 1. The reported user is immediately disconnected from all conversations.
- 2. Their IP address is blocked for 24 hours, preventing reconnection.
- 3. A SHA-256 hash of the IP is logged for the duration of the block period, then deleted.
- 4. For CSAM or credible threats, Chattyio will cooperate fully with law enforcement requests including IP disclosure.
Tips for Staying Safe
- Never share your real name, address, phone number, or workplace in chat.
- Be skeptical of anyone who pressures you to move to another platform immediately.
- Trust your instincts. If a conversation feels wrong, leave and report.
- Remember that anonymous platforms attract bad actors. Keep your guard up.
